Of all the holidays we celebrate, there is none greater than Easter.  As with most religious holidays the secular world has a way of commercializing Easter, causing people’s minds to be focused on other things rather than the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

Easter for those who believe in Jesus is one of the best times to reflect on the great sacrifices He made for us.  Sometimes the burdens we carry get so heavy that we can barely make it, but if we will just remember that he carried all of those for us when He carried the heavy cross to Calvary.

Often there are sins that people just can’t seem to get rid of, but the pain He felt as the nails were driven in His hands and feet were for our sins.  The Bible says He could have called twelve legions of angels to set Him free, but He chose to go through the suffering even to death to set us free from our sins.  There is no love that can compare to the love He showed for us on that day.

Then came the resurrection which gives hope to everyone that believes—hope that we will live eternally with Jesus in a place where there will be no more sin, sickness, death or sorrow.

It is true, there is no greater holiday than Easter.  It is a celebration of victory over sin and death.

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).

“O death where is thy sting, O, grave where is thy victory” (2 Corinthians 15:55).

We wish for you and your family all the blessings of this wonderful season and joyful days ahead as you honor our risen Lord!  We hope to see you on Easter Sunday morning to worship with us.  We will not be having service Easter Sunday evening so you can share some time with your family.
